DOVER-FOXCROFT- The Madison Bulldogs scored on their first four possessions and cruised to a 49-28 win over Foxcroft on Friday night at Oakes field.
Sean Whalen scored five touchdowns, including four in the first half to power the Bulldogs attack. Whalen rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. Whalen also had a 75 yard kickoff return that he took into the end zone late in the first half.
Whalen, Eric Wescott, and Evan Bess combined for 483 rushing yards. Bess ran for 160 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries. Wescott went for 159 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries.
Nick Clawson led the Ponies offensive attack. Clawson threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns on 16-20 passing. He also rushed for two touchdowns and 75 yards on16 carries. Hyatt Smith grabbed two touchdown catches and 115 yards.
Whalen accounted for 35 of the 49 Madison points as he also made 5-6 extra points to go along with his five touchdowns. Wescott missed his entire sophomore season with an injury. His first run of his junior season went for 67 yards and set up the first touchdown for Whalen.
